CArP

An yak remains from the beer-goggled twilight,
A light wind came past, like a panda breaking wind.
Buried in the sand, a solitary eye stuck out.
It was materializing itself--it had no choice
"Holy flying dictator, Batman!" it said swiftly

twilight

last rays
of dying day
garner neither
warmth nor comfort

emptiness and loss
fill dull lit
soot/grey
bone dry sorrow

promises of
newly minted dawn
coax weariness to
hope

hold out

hold my hand now
breathe long
don't hold in
hold out
let your mind stop
right at the point
where your breath
turns back in

the point where
our lips meet
at every breath

breath flows into you
my lips press yours
working shared saliva
no stopping point
as the air turns
from in to out
just a smooth turn
through 180 degrees

in unison
air expelled from
deep inside mixes, flows
against your cheek
through your hair
our tongues mesh and squirm
the last scintilla of air is expelled
to dance the universe joined forever

our lips part
momentarily the world stops
in anticipation of our next breath

A Contrary Opinion

Let's all lynch
Miranda Devine
she doesn't
agree with me

She's got ideas
that suffering
can be fixed
by cutting down a tree

Let's all hate
Miranda Devine
run her over
with a bus

She's committed
the deadly sin
she doesn't agree
with us

Loss

such loss
comes heavy
when borne
on such love

can it be loss
when filled so?
or a new step
in our shared journey
